Dear Child
Brief synopses according to the channel
A mysterious woman’s escape from her harrowing captivity points investigators toward the dark truth behind an unsolved disappearance thirteen years earlier.
the story is set in German
I like how the director …. and made want to read the book which I just read was titled …..
why I chose to watch it
o I saw the story pop up and what made me watch it was the title. being my son’s birthday month I thought I would pick up a thing or two on motherhood. it begins with a women running in the woods in a night gown and already you could se the desparation in her attempt and immediately my mind was prepared for horror.
storyline
the story is fiction from a novel by best selling outhor but you could pretty much believe it was a real story considering the prevelance of women and child abuse. the story showcases the pain of the family members abducted or missing people, the dedication of the police force and sick minds of abductors. stockholm syndrome is highlighted in the victims most especially in Hannah who is the child of Lena
lighting and setting
the lightin, wardrobe and set suits the film nicely from scene to scene. already from the forest, dark night setting at the beginning of the movie we could already see that someone was isolated from the society and them seeing a car or hearing a car drive is they first taste to the world
I felt sad for the main character lena who found it hard to move on from the experience. the story brought to the attention the suffering that continues beyond the captivity and in Hannah we could see the depths of brain washing as she believes what she is doing is good so much so that she hit the man that was going to help them with a stick and tells her grandfather she wants to go to her home so things can be normal
am not sure if it was the creativity of the directors or the author but the story is told in such a way that you think it is a story about ghosts, some paranormal activity or that Hannah is a witch or something. at some point you would even think Lena’s father is the abductor when he sneeks in Hannah’s room, says he would take her home and and tells lena she would take care of Hannah.
the film is almost confusing, mysterious and keeps the viewer guessing who done it and i. at some point i thought the real Lena must have been alive and enjoying her life somewhere.
one cant help but be drawn to the movie in a quest to know who done it, complete the puzzle
i would recommend this movie to anyone looking for mysterious movie to watch and anyone that has been through or is in a toxic relationship. it would give one the guts to get away and if already out give them better understanding of their healing process and not be hard on themselves
